10. Calibrate your pen

If you notice any offset between your pen and the touch targets, you may need to calibrate your pen. This is highly unlikely on active pen devices like the Surface, but in case you need it, calibration is located under the Tablet PC settings control panel.

To open it, tap the Windows key and type ‘calibrate.’ Then tap “Calibrate the screen for pen and touch.” Under display options, tap Calibrate.

Follow the on-screen instructions and make sure that you hold the pen and orient the screen in the angles you are most likely to use for drawing and writing.

Owners of Wacom devices will need to download and install the Wacom Feel driver.  That driver contains its own calibration routine.
